Mahindra Forays into ICV trucks with Mahindra Furio range
Mahindra Truck & Bus Division, a part of the Mahindra group forayed into Intermediate Commercial Vehicles (ICV) trucks segment with the unveiling of Mahindra Furio range of trucks at their state of the art manufacturing plant in Chakan, near Pune on Tuesday. The company showcased 4 new trucks from the Mahindra Furio range, out of the total 21 models planned, a range which will offer different loading capacities & tonnage points starting from 7 Ton GVW. 2 more variants from Mahindra Furio range will be launched by the end of this year.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Vinod Sahay, CEO - Mahindra Truck and Bus and Construction Equipment Divisions, said, "Indian ICV customers have been longing for a truck which can deliver higher earnings, lower operating costs, better safety, improved ergonomics, a comfortable ride and most importantly a world-class ownership experience, as an ideal package. Mahindra Furio Truck Close to 500 Engineers, 180 suppliers, 17 lakh kilometers of testing and an investment of 600 crores has gone behind developing Mahindra Furio platform. Modern next generation Cabin has been designed by the Italian Pininfarina (now a part of Mahindra group). It produces a max power of 140 HP and a max torque of 500 Nm. This engine offers high torque at low RPMs, leading to higher performance in both inter-city and intra-city traffic conditions. Mahindra Furio Engine Fuel-Smart technology with multi-drive mode switches enables the driver to vary the power output depending on vehicle load. This results in most optimum mileage at all loading conditions. The new Mahindra Furio range aims to improve operating economies through higher fuel efficiency, low maintenance cost and higher payload. MTB (Mahindra Truck & Bus) was previously operating in LCV range with Loadking Jayo & Optimo trucks, and Mahindra Blazo range of HCV trucks, tippers & tractors. So, filling of the ICV range gap makes MTB a full range CV player from LCVs to HCVs.
