SML Isuzu or popularly referred to as Swaraj Mazda in India, is a reputed commercial vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Chandigarh. Established in 1983 with the name of Swaraj Mazda Limited, the company has been manufacturing a range of trucks and buses to meet the demand and expectations of the Indian transportation industry. Technical Assistance Agreement was signed with Isuzu Motors in June 2006. And in 2009 Sumitomo Corporation, Japan raised its stake to 53%. As a result, in 2011 Swaraj Mazda Ltd. was rechristened as SML Isuzu. SML Isuzu has a widespread network of over 120 dealerships across the country and also exports their products to Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
