Ayush Lohia, CEO, Lohia highlights the need for long-term policy support to deliver electric mobility in India
"We need full-hearted support like the FAME 2 policy. There should be a clear vision that the policy support will be available at least for the next five years," Lohia told reporters.
The government is working on FAME 3 scheme to promote electric mobility which will be implemented soon. Lohia added, “Our expectation from the government is to bring FAME 3 scheme with full throttle.”
Lohia announced plans to expand its electric three-wheeler range to capture a competitive entry-level EV market segment. Five new models of battery-powered rickshaws will be launched by the end of the month.
“Our new products will cater to the diverse needs of India’s emerging electric mobility market, in line with the government’s vision of making India an electric vehicle nation by 2030."
The company plans to invest Rs 20 crore during the current financial year to expand its research & development, infrastructure and enhance market reach.
The company aims to double its sales volume to 10,000 units this financial year. Lohia Group also plans to double its sales network to 200 dealerships by the end of this financial year.
