Ashok Leyland Unveils the 1925 Series: Revolutionizing Heavy Commercial Vehicles
Ashok Leyland, a prominent name in the commercial vehicle industry, has launched its latest innovation, the 1925 Series, at the highly anticipated ‘M&HCV Expo’ in Bengaluru. This event marks the beginning of a nationwide tour showcasing Ashok Leyland’s Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV), demonstrating the company's commitment to technological advancements and customer-centric solutions.
The ‘M&HCV Expo’ Series is set to travel across 11 major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, allowing customers and stakeholders to experience Ashok Leyland's cutting-edge vehicles firsthand. At the forefront of this showcase is the AVTR range, India’s first modular platform, featuring models such as the AVTR 4825 MAV, AVTR 5525 tractor, and AVTR 4825 HD tipper. Complementing these are the ICV truck model BOSS 1915 and the Oyster i-series buses, designed for school and staff transportation.

The 1925 Series is poised to set new benchmarks in the heavy commercial vehicle segment with its impressive specifications and features aimed at delivering superior performance, durability, and profitability.

The Ashok Leyland 1925 TU Series is powered by the advanced H series BS-VI 6-cylinder engine with i-Gen6 technology. This robust engine produces an impressive 184 kW (250 hp) at 2400 rpm and a torque of 900 Nm at 1200-1900 rpm, ensuring exceptional power and efficiency for demanding transportation needs. The engine is paired with a 395 mm diameter single dry plate ceramic clutch and a 6MT86, 6-speed gearbox with a Final Gear Ratio (FGR) of 8.91, providing smooth and reliable performance across various terrains.

The 1925 Series boasts a fully floating single-speed hypoid differential rear axle with a 6.14 Rear Axle Ratio (RAR), designed to handle heavy loads with ease. The vehicle's suspension system includes parabolic leaf springs at the front and semi-elliptic multi-leaf helper springs at the rear, offering a perfect balance between load-bearing capacity and ride comfort. The vehicle features a full air dual-line braking system with ABS and ASA, complemented by drum brakes, ensuring reliable stopping power and enhanced safety on the road. The diesel tank capacity of 220 liters allows for extended travel without frequent refueling stops, adding to the vehicle's efficiency and reliability.
Versatility and Customization
One of the standout features of the Ashok Leyland 1925 TN Series is its versatility. Customers can choose from different configurations, including the 1925 TU, 1925 TN, and 1925 TM models, each tailored to specific transportation needs. The chassis dimensions of 275 mm x 75 mm x 8 mm provide a sturdy foundation, while the vehicle's maximum speed of 60 kmph ensures timely deliveries.
The 1925 Series offers various body capacities and configurations to suit diverse applications. With a wheelbase of 3600 mm, customers can opt for body capacities of 8.5 m³, 10.5 m³, or 12 m³, making the vehicle adaptable for various cargo types and volumes. The vehicle also offers multiple cabin options, including M Day (Eco), U Day, and N Day with AC options, ensuring comfort and convenience for drivers.
Dimensions and Weight
The Ashok Leyland 1925 TM Series is designed with precise dimensions to optimize performance and load capacity. The vehicle has an overall length of 5310 mm, a front overhang (FOH) of 1550 mm, and a rear overhang (ROH) of 1265 mm. The internal width of 2570 mm ensures ample space for cargo, while the front laden weight of 7000 kg and rear laden weight of 11500 kg highlight the vehicle's impressive load-carrying capabilities.
